The Grand Poorakkali event took place at the Bhagavathi Temple in Thuruthy, Nilamangalam, where over 650 artists performed together. This mega Poorakkali was part of the temple’s Punarprathishta (reinstallation of the deity) and Brahmakalasha Utsavam festival. The youngest performer was 4-year-old Adharv Manoj.
This unique style of Poorakkali, rooted in North Malabar Kerala, brought together 650 performers, all who had trained for six months. The training was organized at ten centers within the Kizhakkath area, with around thirty leaders guiding the practice.
It was a stunning display of unity, rhythm, and tradition, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region!
